Networking Event and Preparatory Webinar
This year’s networking event at the EBSN annual conference in Brussels will again bring EBSN members and interested conference participants together to increase the quality and visibility of basic skills provision at a European level. Together we will explore opportunities for collaboration in European funding schemes and beyond. In the morning of the networking session, we will focus on the topic of basic skills within the Union of Skills and further develop project ideas.
Preparatory Webinar on Thursday, May 22nd 2025, 15:00-16:30 CET.
This year’s edition will feature an initial online workshop on the topic of “Basic Skills within the Union of Skills”. The workshop’s aim is to identify relevant subtopics within the Union of Skills key components and set the stage for a structured and streamlined approach to idea development: Following the online session, workshop participants will be asked to submit a short description of their project idea within the chosen subtopics, which will then be further developed in working groups at the at the annual conference’s networking event.

What to prepare:
- Identify those key strands and subtopics of the Union of Skills communication in which you want to contribute with a project. You will have the opportunity to quickly outline the relevance of the chosen subtopics for the field of basic skills provision.
EBSN Annual Conference Networking Event, on Wednesday, June 18th 2025, 09:00-15:00 CET
The first half of the networking session will be dedicated to enhancing the pre-collected ideas on the Union of Skills. The aim is to create several commited consortia with a strong drive to submit project proposals in the Spring 2026 Erasmus+ call.
After the lunch break, an Open Space and Speed-Dating-Session will allow all participants to present further ideas for collaboration and connect with people and institutions who share their interests and goals within the field of basic skills.
How to participate:
- Register for the EBSN Annual Conference and indicate your willingness to participate in the networking session on page 3 of the application form. The networking event and lunch are included in the conference fee.
- If you have already registered without the networking session but would still like to join us on 18 June, please contact the EBSN Secretariat.
What to prepare:
- Describe your collaboration idea in the form that will be provided after the preparatory webinar.
- Think about other areas you would like to collaborate on and prepare to pitch a related idea in the Open Space.
